Pilot levels are the primary demonstrator of game experience and skill for low and mid-level pilots. They range from 1-30. Reaching a new level provides rewards in the form of holopucks, consumable charges,emblems, repair drones, and more importantly, access to buying new internals and items. When a pilot reaches the level where a set of items or internals are unlocked, they can buy them with MC or HC and equip them to their mechs. A pilot can also unlock items and internals without levelling up by paying an additional MC fee. Once it is paid, the items become available for regular purchase with HC or MC.
A pilot gains levels by playing any gamemode, at the end of a round, they receive XP based on their performance that goes to their profile and levels. A second set of levels goes to their mech's ranks. Once a pilot reaches level 30, the XP gained from additional matches is just added to their level XP pool indefinitely, with no changes to its status.
Reaching level 30 does not make one an expert in the game or a top level player, as this can be reached in a relatively short amount of time (fifty-sixty hours, at a leisurely pace of a few hours a week) whereas many Hawken veterans have cumulative months of game time.
